Arabica coffee is the world’s most popular type of coffee. Arabica coffee is a type of coffee made from the beans of the Coffea arabica plant.
Arabian coffee is believed to be the first species of coffee to be cultivated, and is the dominant cultivar, representing some 60% of global production. Arabica originated in the southwestern highlands of Ethiopia.
Coffee produced from the (less acidic, more bitter, and more highly caffeinated) robusta bean (C. canephora) makes up most of the remaining coffee production.
High quality arabica coffee have a slightly sweet flavor, with hints of chocolate, nuts and caramel. There will be a slight/pleasant acidity, and a little bitterness.
